The dry season occurs from April to October. As usual, in this season we may face some problems such as drought, famine, and lack of water. For an agrarian country like Indonesia, water becomes vital need for people. Unfortunately, we are not conscious of the efficiency in using water. It stand to reason that water crisis occurs. We are flooded during the wet reason. On the other hand, we lack of water during dry season.
The drought may result from the less soil which is needed to absorb water. Crowded settlement, sky scraper buildings, asphalt roads causes this. In such situation, water goes down to the drain or river in a big quantity. Flood result. The remaining water goes down directly to the sea and becomes useless. If we let this happen, it will decrease ground water storage. It will be difficult for us to get suddicient water.
There are three ways to minimize the water crisis. First, optimizing water supply by developing rainfall and run off harvesting. Second, optimizing the water storage by building some dams and artificial lakes. Finally, optimizing the distribution and use of water.
